I thought when Obama came in and tried to negotiate and understand radical Islam, and apologize and cut back on US military power that everyone was going to hold hands and sing kumbaya? North Korea fired off more missiles in his first four months than Bush's 8 years, Iran is clearly seeking nukes with no fear of US reprisal or sanctions, Obama gave up on the missile shield for nothing in return, and now we're hearing about all these thwarted terrorist attacks here on our own soil. Weren't the radical muslims going to LIKE Obama and stop trying to attack? I'm trying to see an ounce of anything positive whatsoever that has come from the new negotiation/muslim appeasement tactics and wonder if someone can enlighten me.
It won't be long before we (those who survive) will be wearing towels on our heads! I think my six year old grandson could do a better job of protecting us, in fact I think he's going to contribute to our demise!
I might be wrong but I think it is time to renew the Patriot act. This could be a warm up. I heard something on FOX about the act being about up for renew time.
I'm pretty sure that Obama knows he's not gonna be a second term President. Knowing that, I'd guess he's doing what so many other Presidents have done. The whole "not on my watch" scenario.
They don't want to be the one who ushers in another big war. If he can appease them long enough to leave office, it'll be the next President who gets the war.

It was before my time of course, but I've been informed that Iran seized a bunch of our citizens during the Carter administration and released them the day after Reagan was sworn in.
But we have to make ourselves and our goals clear. Stumbling around like we're doing in Iraq and Afghanistan only makes us look weak.

Aught Six, yes, it takes a long time to plan attacks. But if your sentiment on attacking changes based on the election of an appeasing President, you can call off an attack immediately, much less 8 or 9 months into the Presidency. It appears to me that we have gotten NOTHING on national security out of Obama, but may be losing quite a bit, not the least of which is respect and credibility.
Cutting missle defense, investigating the CIA (again--isn't there some kind of double-jeapordy clause?), etc. doesn't exactly help.

I tend to think that there must be some true morons among his foreign policy advisors.
And if there's one thing we've learned over the years, there is no appeasing al Qaeda. We're not prepared to withdrawal our military personnel, including sailors at port, from the Middle East. We're also not going to allow Israel to be destroyed. The fight will continue indefinitely until one side or the other exhausts itself.
