Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Do I hear a discouraging word?!!!

I'm beginning to hear some discouraging words from Democrats about the healthcare bill!!!! One Democrat says there is going to be a "big, big tax increase" associated with this bill. Harry Reid says the bill "isn't going to work for Utah." That is noteworthy, I think! Home, home on the Obama-mainstream media range, I have noticed that "seldom is heard, a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day." Looks like a different weather pattern is setting in. Comments? I see this is hopeful.

Again, the bill is too big. It does too much. It vests too much power in government. It costs too much. The real problems are better addressed in a series of incremental, targeted measures propped by individual targeted bills.

Initial focus ought to be tort reform. It has worked well in Texas. Fewer lawsuits. Lower verdicts. Lower Medical Malpractice Insurance costs. More doctors moving to the State.

Second, ACTUAL "choice and competition." Remove the bans on selling insurance across state lines. Congress is very adept at stretching the boundaries of the "interstate commerce clause" in order to pass legislation. Now, the Democrats are saying "that's a States' Rights issue." Hogwash. They've NEVER held up States' Rights as a bar to regulating anything before. Why now? The Dems are in the pockets of trial lawyers...

Target specific areas where reforms are needed. Don't try to completely overhaul a system in one fell swoop, when 80% of Americans are happy with their healthcare.

guess it depends which bill we're talking about. the Baucus bill is the latest, and i think it's safe to say it has all the appeal of a wipespread kitchen greasefire. seems like there's something in it (or not in it) for everyone to hate.

I heard something today that blew my mind. An associate of mine made the statement; Gawd, Obama and his administration is going to be the death of us." This came from an individual of color. One who has blindly defended Obama. His statement kind of illustrate your point Alsatin.

Max Baucus must have suddenly become retarded.

This bill is poorly crafted and a huge dud - makes me think it was done this way on purpose, kind of a straw-man bill that was set up to fail for some nefarious purpose yet to be revealed.

Baucus Bill (-1)

Back to the drawing board.

The correct bill is drawn up. It only took three paragraphs and it's post number #2. Good job ipsc, I would charge DC your normal rate.

What happened to the plan the president gave a joint session of congress speech about? He kept saying "my plan does this," and "my plan don't do that."

Baucus must not have been listening when the president said he had a plan.

You mean the president hasn't revealed one yet? I guess that speech was "just words."

Fewer people every day are being fooled by this whole process, and the biggest problem they are having is that for once, most people are watching what they are doing.

I agree. If they want to get it done right, they need to get out of there partisan beliefs and listen to the people. It is obvious the bills that the administration/congress are pushing is not popular. The Republican actually have some good ideas. Now they need to get together and work for us, not themselves. Both sides.

Well... dang. It only took me five minutes. Where else are you going to get a solution to the nation's healthcare problems for $20.00?

If you want to find out about how much in the pocket of the trial lawyers our elected officials are check out Michelle Malkin's book Culture of Corruption, it's focus is on the Obama administration, but you can easily see where the politician's allegiances lie. Why else would tort reform not have been addressed.
