Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Congratulations to the senate for squashing this wasteful bug.
Apparently ACORN has received federal funds since 1994. Not good nor does it relfect well on whomever is in charge of federal audits over the last 15 years. Congress? The Senate? Who was asleep at the wheel here?

Life long politicians make deals in back rooms (they do it all the time, all of them). The longer they are allowed to suck that teat, the more corrupt they become. Maybe if they know they are not going to get a free ride for the rest of their lives we might get some people in office that are they because they want to serve, not be served!

I don't know Charlie, just my opinion. Something has to be done, they are all freaking crooks.

We have term limits now, it called the voting booth. Maybe if Americans got off their couch and researched canidates and held them accountable, we wouldn't have career criminals in D.C. The real problem starts at the party level. Getting your parties nomination is a process of who you know and who you make promises to, broken only by a vigilant electorate.

Charlie
You are right. I just hope this is a wake up call that brings real results.

Byrd and Mikulski did not vote on the ACORN bill. Both are old and sick: Expect to see them vote for Obama's healthcare extravaganza though.

Any idea why seven Republicans did not vote on this important piece of legislation.

For starters here is McCain at an ACORN rally in 2006.

Hutchinson is running for TX governator next year and she needs all the Mexican votes she can get. Suspect that Burr and Graham also had hangups because of the huge population of illegals in NC and SC. Gregg is a gutless wimp. Have no clue why Vitter did not vote. Will call Coburns office tomorrow and get his sorry excuse for not voting.

What a gutless bunch of eunuchs.

Hope VC sees this--it's a start at least.
Yea, its a start, Chad.

I'm still disgusted with the pack of them. We need true leadership. We need someone to do just half of what all these bozos in Washington promise to do...until they are elected. We need to imprison more like we did with Traficant...a LOT more. Then they'd think twice.

Instead, like falcon said, they get re-elected...over and over again.
