I will never watch the show again. If 20 million others would turn it off too, it would send a message that "gays" put in positions specifcally because they're "gay" results in huge ratings falls and isn't what people want.

If you're arguing that Ellen Degeneres is getting the Idol gig to cater to the gays, you could make the argument that Idol has been catering to gays all along. Two openly gay dudes, Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert, made the finals.

Abdul is hot... DeGeneres looks like a pissed off chipmunk. I never watched the show anyway, but if I did it would probably be to watch Abdul. Adding a sideshow freak isn't going to get me to watch it, that's for sure.

Given that I try to avoid this show at all costs, I personally don't care if they have a panel of three chimps trowing feces at the singers - the level of importance the show has in my esteem would not change.
