I'm guessing that what Obama is going to pitch tonight in his maybe 50 minutes of prime time is not going to be the nitty-gritty of the Democrats' marked-up healthcare bill but rather the hoped for results. I'm a patent professional. It is a rookie mistake in our profession to attempt to claim "hoped for results" in our patent claims, because the patent office is going to shoot that attempt down in a hurry. We have to set forth and clearly distinguish structure or steps of a process. If the structure produces the hoped for results, great, but in any case the structure is what our patent claims are directed to and protect.
My guess is that Obama is going to sell "hoped for results." This is going to be the best thing since sliced bread. It is going to make the blind see and the lame walk and the dead come back to life. What language is in the bill that is magically going to make these hoped for results become manifest in the world of actuality . . . well, that isn't going to be examined very closely.
Of course, it is easy to enumerate hoped for results. It is also a fertile ground for false hopes, delusional hopes, and disingenuous hyping of hoped for results that won't be realised by the language of the bill.
How many think the Democrats will have scrapped that 1,000+ page bill and started from scratch? Not me. I think this is a good case for rolling out that "a pig with lipstick still is just a pig" expression that Obama taught to us during the 2008 campaign.

Ill be watching and hopeing I dont have to hold my nose. It will be interesting to see what Obama has come up with for this speech. The ones up to this point have been very short of substance. If he gives another substance free speech, the debate will probably be over.

There is no substance for him to add to his speech. He's still campaigning; it's a campaign that was molded around hatred for conservatism and he has nothing else to offer. He appeals to the emotions of those who have very short attention spans. In order to keep his ratings he must continue this campaign. If he started seriously discussing the issues, he would lose the attention of his supporters. It would either fly over their heads or they would realize that there is no such thing as a handout.
This joke was elected because he promised to take from the rich and give to the poor. People are hopefully starting to realize that it just doesn't work that way.

I'm interested to see how much longer the networks continue to give him coveted primetime slots for his speeches. Less than a year in office and this is, what, his fourth primetime address? Fifth, maybe? I have seen estimates that it costs each network nearly $1 million to shuffle programming and advertising.

The simple fact of the matter is that his math don't add up. I said back during the campaign. It is common sense, you can't increase spending at the levels he is proposing and not raise taxes for every single American. Why Mccain didn't jump all over that I have no clue. The people are finally waking up and seeing him for what he really is, a CHARLATAN, a Chicago politician and just plain radical. I highly doubt that this healthcare bill will pass, even the democrat congress and senate see it for what it really is, political suicide. If it does pass you can darn well bet that the landscape in washington is going to look very different come the 2010 midterm elections.
