I know that sometimes, you get the sense from TV that you can be rich and successful without any hard work -- that your ticket to success is through rapping or basketball or being a reality TV star, when chances are, you’re not going to be any of those things.
But the truth is, being successful is hard. You won’t love every subject you study. You won’t click with every teacher. Not every homework assignment will seem completely relevant to your life right this minute. And you won’t necessarily succeed at everything the first time you try.
But if you grease the palms of enough rich criminals hands you too can be the President of the United States.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. I do that every day. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength. Lord knows I wouldn't be able to tie my shoes with out having someone else type it on a teleprompter. It shows you have the courage to admit when you don’t know something, and to learn something new. So find an adult you trust – a czar, tax cheat or community organizer; a politician or union director – and ask them to help you stay on track to meet your goals of systematically changing the face of the United States of America.

Finally, something I can get behind the president with.

I am confused. I thought religious speeches were not allowed in schools. Isn't the principal and athletic director of my kids high school (Pace HS in Santa Rosa county Fl.) being sued by the ACLU for praying in school? WTH. Is the President going to get a pass by the ACLU for a religious speech in schools directed to students that may or may not share his views of Christianity?

It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

I went over the speech yesterday and found the message to be good. My whole issue with this controversy was the lesson plans that initially went out. This speech is nothing more than what Regan and Bush did. Obama just tried to indoctrinate at first, but when his feet were held to the fire, he backed off, which he should have. Obama's first plan was a direct violation of : 20 U.S.C. § 3403

My daughters school sent a permission slip home with her on Friday. It was asking if we were okay with her watching the Obama telecast. My daughter is only 5 so she wouldn't understand what was going on anyway. Even if she could I wouldn't want her to watch it. So I checked the box saying that I would like her to do something else and sent her to school with it today.

Bush's first several PC's after 9-11 were aired live - with no previews and no parental permission by many teachers which had cable TV in the classroom. Lots if not most schools now have cable TV access of some kind. Where was the outrage and insistance on "parental Permission" about the president being aired in the classroom then?

But sir, the Bush thing was a propaganda photo op aired to show the president's concern for education. The speech of that ultra- liberal Obama guy will likely contain a subliminal message that only school kids will receive. It's treason, i tell you.

There's bit of a difference between "press conferences" in the aftermath of a terrorist attack and a speech prepared specifically for the students which is presented together with a prepared curriculum from the department of education requesting essays from the students about how they can help President Obama.
And... Bush, for the most part, wasn't some commie pinko hell-bent on destroying our nation...
That being said... I've reviewed the speech, and it ain't half bad...
