Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Obama's speech to kids

I can honestly say that if this were President Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr. , Reagan etc. I would support this message to school children.
I think it is a wondeful idea and each and every president should do it from now on - no matter his party.

A president essentially telling kids to be dedicated, try hard, stay in school, set the bar high - that's great and we need more of that.

Asking the kids to "help the president" in that regard is true and legitimate - it will help the kids help themselves for the President to ask them such a thing. It could give them some national pride in thinking they be ABLE TO HELP THE PRESIDENT. Lots of kids would be excited to think they could help the president - it might give them that motivation to believe they could make their country better through making themselves better. Young children always want to help adults anyway. This type of message could give them hope that they CAN help adults, the president, and us all by trying hard in school and therefore more likely to become productive citizens - who don't need welfare - who are motivated to stand on their own 2 feet.

Well done President Obama. All this paranoid clamor is simply stupid. A president actually takes time to care about children and attempt to inspire them to great things and some folks slam it with Limbaugh and Hannity styles lies, spin, paranoia, hatred and down right stupidity.

Some of you should be deeply ashamed and embarrassed that you have lost sight of the truth and the things that can make America greater than ever - a generation of kids that could grow up to be open minded, inspired, hopeful and motivated and won't end up as jaded, partisan and hateful as you.

With two threads already going about this topic you felt the need to start another?

Kind of like our current government.... a complete waste of time and energy.

Then you wasted you keystrokes and time by responding.

PS: Your avatar of a kid urinating on the President's name which is colored with the patterns and colors of our American Flag - is essentially a kid peeing on the flag. Very unpatriotic. "If you don't love it - leave it" (Merle Haggard)

FYI: The American Flag is red, white and (navy) blue, with stars and stripes. The "Calvin peeing" item is Obama's campaign logo. It's not a Flag. Not even close. The obamanation is an abomination, and if you don't particularly care for someone exercising his rights under the First Amendment by expressing, through art and symbolism, political thoughts which are opposed to your own... well, apparently you agree with that "cop" in the First Amendment" thread, who said "This isn't America anymore." Perhaps you ought to take your own advice.

I thought supporting Obama in Texas was a misdemeanor?

Seriously, you both are protected by freedom of speech. Which isn't to say that you both can't argue about it. So it's not really a first Amendment issue, and using it won't help either of your arguments.

But a third thread is rediculous. Sorry, freedom of speech got the best of me.

And I'm the retard who started the second thread cuz I failed to scroll down far enough.

True, the president "can not fix our society!" He didn't say that's what he was doing. A president CAN help to make our society better and inspire children and adults alike to greater goals. Take Kennedy and LBJ inspiring Americans to go to the moon and in so doing drive such great national pride, unity and technological benefits of an advanced space program.

"Apologize for the debt HE created" ?? What what?! You must be joking.

"Never be repaid!" What What?! So the US in already in bankruptcy court ehh?

No, he should tell them exactly what the spirit of the message is, to set high goals, stay in school and work hard

Thank the Good Lord for that. I took 8 years of neglect to get us where we are so I fully expect it to take 8 more years of hard work to climb back out of the hole.

God Bless America and God Bless President Obama.
