Man's Finger Bitten Off in Scuffle at Health Care Rally (moveon shows its teeth) It appears that a 65 year old person had his finger bitten off at a Move on.org healthcare rally in Thousand Oaks. The man was believed to of been from the anti-obamacare group protesting. The article states that the man carried his finger to the hospital to have it re-attached.

If Obamacare had been in place, the first thing they'd do is hand the bleeding man a pen and paper and have him fill out a bunch of forms. Hopefully, the removed digit was not on his writing hand...

Then, they'd have a panel review whether it was cost effective to reattach the finger on an old person.

After a month of review, they'd come to the conclusion that it was too late to reattach the finger...

Article states that the incident is being investigated. Only mentioned that a fist fight ensued which resulted in a protester having his finger biten off.

From what I read, it was the Obamacare supporter who bit an anti-Obamacare person's finger off.

Interestingly.... No one has challenged my assessment of how the guy would be treated if Obamacare is enacted.

Could be even a shorter process....

I heard substantially the same thing. However, I also heard that "jaws" was among the MoveOn protestors on one side of the street, crossed the street to wade into the midst of the anti-ObamaCare protestors on the other side of the street, and that's when the altercation ensued. I'm guessing "jaws" provoked the altercation. I hope we hear more about it. Sounds like more of Obama's "get in their faces" style of political engagement. Maybe we need to be more ready to cope with this violence in the future when these hoods try to physically impose their political opinions on us.

accounts differ. i read one where the bitee was trying to intimidate a much smaller woman, which prompted the biter to confront the bitee. as you say, though, the facts will undoubtedly come out.

words generally don't justify fists. and i really wouldn't look at this one in a partisan prism. i think it's safe to say that both sides of the spectrum have more than their fair share of *******s, and in this particular instance, two of them met each other.
