Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

A little inside information on how "bipartisan" the Congressional leaders are.

He told him, "You ought to be ashamed."

Sorry, there is no shame in politics, but it is a shame that the issue was not properly addressed till it got to these people (the majority in charge).

The situation is now grave. The politics swirling around this are as thick as any I can remember. "Bipartisanship" has nothing to do with it.

History is happening. Now we can only hope that it settles somewhere more appropriate than what has been proposed by the dems.

The "rush" to get this passed is in the same vein as the stimulus package..."just vote, don't read it."

I don't know what has been tried, but I believe there has been attempts at Tort reform.

What makes it any more "grave" now that it was 10 years ago? 5 years ago? 2 years ago? Seriously--no sarcasm intended here.

I keep hearing this 40-something million uninsured, which I really don't believe at all--or rather, is very misleading. A majority of these are accounted for with people who simply choose not to buy insurance, and illegals. Most of those left are already on a "single payer" plan, via Medicare/Medicaid, and we see what kind of mess it is.

As I understand it, insurance is super regulated already. One thing that's been brought up is allowing companies to compete across state lines, getting rid of idiotic special interest mandates, like one state requireing insurance companies to cover a boob job, another a sex change, another hair transplants, etc. That, Tort reform, and getting illegals off the gov't teat would go a LONG way towards making insurance a lot more affordable. It's so simple--but it will never happen.

Agreed... a lot of these liberals talk about the urgency of healthcare reform. Can anyone give reference of a personal experience, or even one from someone they know, where they were refused necessary medical care? Is anyone, or anyone you know, unable to obtain healthcare coverage -either by paying for it or receiving it through current state or federal medical funding programs? If you need to see a doctor, has anyone, other than disabled veterans that is, had to wait more than a day to see their PCP?

Even if you are in support of the federal government getting involved in our healthcare, why must a plan be rushed through congress?
