Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

(CNN) -- A new global study shows that 90 percent of all large fishes have disappeared from the world' s oceans in the past half century, the devastating result of industrial fishing.

Total load of BS and I' m not suprised it come from CNN' s website. 90% of the big fish gone???? 90%?? Give me a freaking break. Do you realize how big the oceans are? Have these people actually looked at a globe? Give me a break.

Here is a great quote from the article.

" I think the point is there is nowhere left in the ocean not overfished,"

No where??? Oh geez, I think I' m going to puke. This is why I have no respect for so much of the science and education world.[X(]

Tx, I understand what you mean, but the article comes from " Nature" an International Journal...guess I' ll have to go out and buy the magazine to find out more....

Here' s what the first paragraph says:

Net losses: Industrialized fishing hits fish stocks

Analysis of data from five ocean basins reveals a dramatic decline in numbers of large predatory fish (tuna, blue marlins, swordfish and others) since the advent of industrialized fishing. The world' s oceans have lost over 90% of large predatory fish, with potentially severe consequences for the ecosystem. These findings provide indirect support for goals established at the UN' s World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg last year. UN officials argued that three-quarters of the world' s fisheries were fished to their sustainable limits or beyond, and made proposals for the restoration of depleted fisheries by 2015. Data on predatory fish are important as they are not dependent on datasets from commercial fisheries, which can be unreliable

Thats why we should eat more dolphins , & less tuna ?

Some changes im sure , but i think there exagerating there numbers too.

They just came up with some new unknowen life from the deeps, some giant red jellyfish etc ( but they know what going on in all the oceans depths , even tho inner space( the seas)& its creatures , have not all been explored or spiecies discovered?

___________
maybe thye should do some stocking of fishs etc( but not with genetic/ man made mad mutants[] lol), commerical fisheries.
Cod wars?

If other counrtys( china, ***an, korea etc) dont follow the rules of the catch as americans do& cross into others fishing grounds& off shore waters etc

I think thats where us gun boats etc come in handy , with such delicate diplomatic relations.
