KIA is an American car. It's built in West Point, Ga. Don't get your panties in a wad. The cash for clunkers program is bad enough. Don't make it worst by restricting it even more who can benifit from it.

Our "American Cars" have less American components than the imports do. Don't blame the foreigners for understanding our free market better than the American auto workers. Let's see, deliver a quality product at a reasonable price and people will buy it. Go figure.

While Kia is a Korean owned company, a subsidiary of Hyundai, it's North American arm employs Americans, so does the dealership I bought it from. So do the many other side businesses that profit form their association with them, and I understand that Toyota and Honda have similar arrangements. While the program probably should have been limited to only American car companies, that would've disenfranchised the hundreds of thousands of UAW workers toiling in foreign owned plants.

How does it not benifit our economy? The car is built in Ga. Are the workers in GA from USA or are they here on Visas? Those truck drivers who deliver the cars to the dealers, are they Americans? How amount the people working at the dealerships? What about the bankers who are providing loans? How about the insurance company workers?

Think before you make such a false claim.

Just because their forklift drivers aren't taking home $70K a year doesn't mean they're in prison camps. Besides, Obama said that China's infrastructure was better suited for business than ours. If that were true, why are they all coming over here to sell their products?

BTW, it was the government that put those people in "prison camps". That's what happens when you have government control everything. They squeezed their own population dry and then learned how to take advantage of them. You can't blame the government for doing that. It was the people who gave the government that power to start with.
