If the healthcare plan is so great, why are the Dems hiding from the American public. Why have they refused to hold townhalls or now when they do, they stack the audiance like Tampa? Why won't they go on the local talk shows to sell their plan? If they really had a solution the American public wants, it should be an easy sell.

If you want to know what a government run healthcare plan will be like, go ask a disabled vet. The VA healthcare is supposed to be a special care organization, controlled by the government. You'd think they could do well considering they only have to care for veterans. It sucks. Don't get me wrong, many of the people involved in the VA healthcare centers, are great. But the patients lose when you have legislators and bean counters decide who gets what care.
If you are healthy, and don't need anything but wellness checkups, its great. If you need special care your choices are very limited. God help you if you need care that the VA doesn't offer internally. I needed a treatment for my injury that the VA doesn't offer. In 2006, 07, and 08 I was approved to receive this outside treatment. I was able to get off pain meds and live mostly, a normal life. This year the funds aren't available. I'm faced with paying for this treatment out of my pocket, which isn't too deep, or just deal with the pain until the funds are back (if the funds are ever back). Admittedly, this isn't life threating. It just comes down to comfort really and I'm not complaining. I'm just pointing out how it will be for the general population.
Wub. I know where you are at there. I have been a patient of the VA since about 1976. I go to the Fargo ND VA which IMO is one of the best VA facilities going. However, this year they told us to be sure and check before having any treatment that the VA has paid in the past because it may not pay those same costs.
It frosts me that the same care that is good enough for America's veterans is not good enough for our public servants. IMO the first requirement of any health care that they shove on us, should include all the members of congress and even the retired presidents.

Know all about the VA. Been depending on the system since 1987 for serious health issues. All they offer me is drugs to mask the problem. I need 2 hip replacements, got a bone disease, High BP and diabetas , severe therpathy, and skin cancer. They send me to physical therapy , WHY ? I dont know and took me 6 months to get a wheelchair. They do keep insisting I take codine and morphine drugs.I WONT. I was told by the doctor the hip job would correct the therapathy and circulation problems, but they cant get a OK to do it. Then to boot they will only give me 45 Sugar test strips to check my blood for a 90 day period. I cant control mt diabetas without checking my blood several times a day. I know I will end up being another death statistic on their records. Government health care Laughable and deadly.
Unfortunately, these stories will become the norm if we don't wake up America and stop the Dems in passing their government care for everyone.

They had me on all kinds of crap: morphine patches, codeine, etc... I ended up getting myself off all of that stuff. Then they give me a new doctor. I had a bad relapse and needed some pain meds, just for a week or so. This new doctor, the very first time I meet him, refuses to give me what I need, which was some Vicodin. He says "we don't give narcotics because you might get addicted". Jackass.. did you read my history? I told him "look, I've got all kinds of drugs, that the VA game me BTW, at home even morphine and several types of codeine. I just don't want something that strong. I was on it for two years and had a hell of a time getting away. Vicodin works and I don't have a dependence on it. I just want it to help me sleep for this week.". He didn't give it to me. He recommended PT. Now also, it's in the computer that "I request narcotics". My pain management doctor told me about it and added his own note after the comment (they can't take things out of the system I guess).
That is a big part of their plan, that will cut the hell out of their SS payments as well. They may also cut care to children who are not up to their standards. Scares the hell out of me, but then, they can only kill me once.
