Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Successful government programs ?

Can anyone name any that are well run and come in at or below budget ? Especially ones that have been around for awhile.

Maybe the IRS. They are very good at squeezing people without lawyers for money.

I would probably consider the CRP program a successful program.

I can't say about that. The CRP has been a blessing to hunters and a boom to wild life, no doubt about that. I suppose for non hunters it may have it's drawbacks.

Head Start. For a generation it has been successful in raising reading levels in children.

The armed forces have been pretty successful but they often exceed their budget.

Head Start has been a joke in California. But that should surprise no one since California has the biggest economy and one of the worst school records.

Depending on where you live, the answer to that question could be very different. The program could work wonders in your area and be a flop somewhere else. I bet someone here has something bad to say about any program mentioned as being good.

First off, headstart hasn't been a success. Studies have shown there is no difference from those attending headstart and kids that don't.

I'm sure the retirement plans the legslative branch gets are well run for them.
