I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND. how we will continue to pay this "charity" when we are broke? do u give as much to say the salvation army when your wallet is empty?

I give what I can to those I'm willing to. That's all I can do. It's mostly not in the form of money anyway.

As for it comming from taxes (which is what I figure we're talking about) the system is so convoluted that it's simply impossible for the answer to be simple.

Thats the method they use. People blindly paying to stay out of trouble and the tax code is so intricate that few really know what is going on.

I've often wondered that myself. If you're eating better than me off food stamps I paid for, living rent free because I'm paying your rent too(Section 8, AFDC), and seeing doctors and dentists on my dime as well(Medicaid), then why can't you pack your kids a sack lunch for school? For what I spent in food stamps alone they could take steak sammiches at least once a week.
