Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Republicans Call GOP Too Southern, Rural

Well, two Republicans not running for office think there party has become to regional. No matter what you think of rural Southerners, there's not hardly enough of 'em to win a national election:

"Recent comments by Senator George Voinovich, who is a lame-duck Republican senator from Ohio, has gotten some other Republicans mad. Voinovich told “The Columbus Dispatch,” his hometown dispatch—quote—“”We have got too many Jim DeMints”—he would be the conservative guy from South Carolina—“and too many Tom Coburns”—he‘s the conservative guy from Oklahoma. It is the Southerners. People hear them and say, ‘These people, they are Southerners. The party is being taken over by Southerners. What the hell they got to do with Ohio?‘”

Ex Rep Tom Davis (who opposed the Thune amendment) :

"Well, it—you know, it‘s changed so that people, the high-education areas—Obama carried 78 of the 100 counties with the highest education. McCain carried 88 of the 100 counties with the lowest education.
So, there—as we have moved to cultural politics, that‘s been the shift. But that‘s going to change."

Yep, Voinovich is a fine liberal piece of work. The idiot never saw an anti-gun law he did not like. The vast majority of Okies are very satisfied with senator Coburn. Voinovich wants the Republican party to be more in step with the ultra liberals.

I see. You couldn't defend your Sarah Palin intelligence BS, so now, let's attack the intelligence of conservatives in general. Bible thumping, uneducated, southern morons. Again, maybe in one of these threads, you'll explain your defenation of intelligence?

Again, to show how asinine your post was, 2,677,820 people voted for McCain in Ohio. Obama got 2,677,820. Difference of 262,224. Of those, how many were Acorn votes? Either way, are you saying 2,677,820 folks in Ohio don't know where the live? That the consider themselves rual southerners? Put the bong down.

There is somewhat of a division in the Republican party right now, this often happens when there is no clear leader in the out of power party. IMO Steel is a weak leader for the party and is almost a liberal as most democrats. osama's sinking numbers will start to rebuild the Republican party and osama may not even win his own party nomination next time.

Lets make this really simple...so simple even a democrat can understand it... People like Voinovich and Colon Powell said they need more moderates in the repub party. Welll...... John McCain was about as watered down as they come... how did that work out for the repubs? They want moderates but yet in poor little Colon's case he didnt even support the very candidate he railed for....wtf?

The moderate path has been tried!!! It does NOT work! If the repub party ever wants my vote again they better be sliding a helluva lot further to the right than they are now. They need to drop the smokescreen social issues and get to the right on the fiscal responsibility and government size part. THAT is where the problem lies.

I don't know why people expect the GOP to get more votes by appealing to fewer voters. Just maybe the strict conservatives (who did not vote in the last election) could be more enthusiastic and give more with a more conservative candidate. Just maybe.

If people have problems with the statements about Ohio and about the less educated areas, they should address them to the Republicans that made them. More to the point, show where those statements are wrong.
