Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Sen. K. Bailey Hutchinson to Resign

Hutchinson has said that she will resign in October or November of this year. She will run against TX governator Rick Perry. This one could get interesting.

I hate to see her go. She is one of the few sane voices in DC

She's too outnumbered in the Senate to do much good, anyway.

If she can get Perry out of office, she can do Texas a lot of good.

I don't think it is an accident that the Texas economy is way better off than the other big states in the country. I think Perry has made Texas a business friendly environment. I think his concept of tax law, environmental law, and tort law, has contributed to why Texas is not bankrupt like most everybody else. Even though you could probably find some things I may not agree with that he has done, I think Texas could have done a lot worse than Perry. I liked Kay Bailey in the Senate, but I think I would take an executive over a legislator to run my state any day.

Sorry Kay.

At least you are admitting voting for him. Most people I suspect of doing so won't.

My bitterness towards "Toll Road" Perry extends from his giant land grab that didn't pan out, and because of things done between him and that crooked speaker from Midland while they had control with little meaningful opposition.

He's done better lately, but he's shown his willingness to abuse power already. I think this has a lot to do with him facing a strong opponent in the primary. As far as the Texas economy, I don't see how the governor has had any effect. What has made the difference for us has been oil and gas, not any specific intervention on behalf of the government.
