Post Palin lashes out at Obama

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Sarah Palin, who says she will step down as Alaska's Republican governor at the end of the month, warned on Tuesday that President Barack Obama's energy plan is an "enormous threat" to the US economy.

The Obama administration's proposed cap-and-trade system to battle climate change "is an enormous threat to our economy. It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage," Palin wrote in an opinion article published in The Washington Post.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/09071...ergy_economy_1

A bill passed by the House of Representatives late last month aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 17 percent from 2005 levels by 2020, and 83 percent by 2050, to create "green" jobs and wean the US economy from oil imports.

"Can America produce more of its own energy through strategic investments that protect the environment, revive our economy and secure our nation? Yes, we can," continued Palin, 45. "Just not with Barack Obama's energy cap-and-tax plan."

....Here comes Sarah...git 'im Sarah....

There is one thing that eventually penetrates those thick libby skulls, losing power, which is exactly what will happen if their constituents electric and gas bills suddenly shoot up, along with everything else impacted by this sham. The sea change in the Congressional make up will rival that of the Klintoon years because liberals never learn from their mistakes.

I hope you are right. By the same token, I hope the Republicans have learned something and don't stupidly blunder away their restored power ("I've got some political capital and I'm gonna' spend it!" yup, you did that!), should this event occur. It seems the Bush administration made many, many missteps. It might have been nice to try to build some concensus without just blazing a path out through the uncharted woods. Additionally, Republican legislators made many missteps -- like going along with deficit spending instead of cutting the nuts off of the social spenders and cranking back on the social spending.

I do not know who attached that 300-page rider to the Crap-and Trade bill, but this will be the death knell for that bill. Basically, the rider calls for every home to be sold must go thru an energy audit, with penalties assessed for inefficient heating or cooling, insufficient insulation, drafty windows and/or doors, etc. You think your home's value is worth a bucket of 'road apples' now ? Wait till the destroyers pass this monstrosity.

As a side note, in 1775 (I think), some Massachussetts locals boarded a royal ship and dumped the king's tea into the bay, destroying the product and denying tax dollars to the crown. What gives people the right to call an 'anti tax rally' a 'tea party' if there is no civil disobedience ? I wish they had called it something else....maybe a 'tax protest' or something more accurately depictive of the activities.

Expecting the next major step in this quest for absolute authority to be the removal of opposition, I see a big target on her. Before it costs the people who will be needed to give this administration the legal authority to remove the "trouble makers" they will give up what protects them. When it does cost them, if they complain, they 2 will be removed. How can it happen? People will turn in their neighbors because what they have will be for the taking.

A lot of pridefull people have shown off what they have and how important they are. Lot of envious people who hate them for it. Mix and serve.

12 At that time Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent Hezekiah letters and a gift, because he had heard of Hezekiah's illness. 13 Hezekiah received the messengers and showed them all that was in his storehouses—the silver, the gold, the spices and the fine oil—his armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them.
14 Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah and asked, "What did those men say, and where did they come from?"
"From a distant land," Hezekiah replied. "They came from Babylon."

15 The prophet asked, "What did they see in your palace?"
"They saw everything in my palace," Hezekiah said. "There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them."

16 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD : 17 The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD. 18 And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood, that will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon."

Problem is that Palin is as much of a threat to the Republican status quo as she is to the Democrats. The RNC is not going to support her. We all need to get behind Palin and tell the the old fossils at the RNC to butt out.

Agreed. The Repubs are running scared at this point because quite frankly, on their own, they've succeeded in nearly destroying the party.
Now they are out of power, utterly. Their only recourse is to return to their conservative roots and while they may individually wield neither power nor influence, supporting Palin and her initiatives will serve to solidify the party and give them direction. I like Palin, as she seems to be a straight shooter and principled. I'd vote for her; like it or not, she's going to be the new face of the Republican Party, if she is not already.
