Seems sotomayor was able to keep a straight face and lie like crazy, saying exactly what she was supposed to say, vs. anything remotely like she's on record saying. Being able to tell a blatent lie that totally contradicts what you have said all along with a straight face seems to be all it takes to get Dem confirmation.

No problem. She said she can be unbiased. Outright lie, she has proved she cannot move race aside and be unbiased. Not sure if you have kept up with the news (you usually don't), but another court has decided she did wrong with the lawsuit brought by the white firefighters. Any idiot can see she did wrong. It may be a strech, but I bet if you told the truth, you might be able to see the wrong.
I was down in DC today, and bunch of folks were in front of the Sepreme court along with CBS and NBS news setting up. I explained to my wife how she has lied and not suited for the job. So everyone of color gave me daggering looks, and everyone else agreed.
I think this is very similar to what we saw in the 2008 election. Since she is a democrat, and a very liberal one at that, the liberal media is singing her praises and hushing up the truth. Reminds me of how they treated Obama.
