Everyone has to have insurance or you can't drive.....if you get caught bad news. When you get pulled over for a check they will ask to see you Lic, reg and insurance card. We have annual vehicle state inspections here and part of it you have to show a current insurance card so it really is hard to get a car registered and drive it without insurance.

If the link is that not having health insurance unfairly transfers a financial burden to others, then there is possibly solid logic there. Note that I am not addressing the hows and whys, only the potential link as pointed out by CI.
For the ill-educated on this thread, the operative word is "if."

You bet it is. And all those members (and American citizens) who previously sat in denial of the questions on the sidelines of this issue (because it did not yet affect them...at least that is what they would like to think) are now suddenly interested in what is happening in Washington...isn't that special?
Years ago, I wrote that this would be the natural conclusion if people did not seek relief for the burdens foisted on the American employer and many American families. Is it the right course of events? Maybe yes, maybe no. But it certainly is the natural course.
When the private sectors fails to address it problems the public sector will always step in use brute force.
Suddenly everyone is perking up and paying attention?
