Governator Sanford was not hiking. He was in Argentina with his wife substitute. Sandford was a Republican hopeful for president in 2012. Yep, i know about Clinton and Monica.
ATLANTA (Reuters) - South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who has been seen as a potential candidate for the 2012 U.S. presidential election, tearfully admitted on Wednesday he had been unfaithful to his wife and resigned as chairman of the Republican Governors' Association.
It takes an angry independent to make this connection. Please explain to me what exactly do both instances have in common? I will attempt to hold my breath to hear your response.
On the other hand:
If he was a Democrat preacher, he now gets elivated to console to the president in his infidelity.
If your a Democrat govenor and gay, your entitled to not only your wife himiliation in public by standing next to you (don't fell bad for her, it's all about the money) you get the full support of your party trying to make swense of the matter.
If your black (not white) and blind, you get the full support of the Democrat party to serve as an unelected govenor in one of the most powerfull states of the union.
I know I'm missing several but I rest my case on the Dems, now back to the republicans.
If you a Republican that recently admitted to infidelity, you not only stand up, admit it but your wife doesn't stand by your side as the complicit bimbo because she is digging for the people's money, you from resign your post on the national RNC comittee, main stream media begins planting seeds for you to resisn as govenor (eventhough is was only a private sexual affair) and then worst yet, falcon, the horn dog he is, jumps all over you because you got young latina butt and didn't set him up! Sorry falcon, perhaps adult you tube will post videos for you.[:-]

Democrats are expected tocheat on their wives and have homo affairs. Most of us expect a little better from guys who wear their religion on their shoulders and claim to have a monopoly on some scarce commoditycalled "family values."

Whoever made such a claim but the left? It's very telling that such a person like yourself who uses an individual'sfaults to trash an entire movement of freedoom. I just don't get your enthusiasm for trashing that everytime this issue comes up. I don't think it just me noticing this fact but I could be wrong.

spitzer and mcgreavy resigned from office, as they probably should have. ensign and sanford have not. you tell me if they should.
granted, spitzer engaged in illegal conduct, but i think it was primarily his hypocracy that did him in. sanford has established himself firmly as a "christian values" candidate, and has a track record of calling upon philandering Ds and Rs to resign. it will be interesting to see if he holds himself to his own exacting standards.
First he has a track record that parralells the mob while in office. He ran a shack down DA office that I think you would never do. Second, he also went full bore after those using escort services just like ones he used. They did time, he didn't. I nkow, hard for a dem to understand that.

mcgreavy
Oh how I love this. Putting a side the fact his bimbo wife acted even worst than spitzer's, I seem to remember he held office, with support of the Dems, long enough for Corzine to be elected.Had he resigned right away, a republican would have taken over. Was that the Lt. or something? I can't remember, but he did stay in office with full supoort because party was more important than morals.

Remeber, the scandals are new. They have stepped dowm from their national posts, the main stream press is on them. However, so far I see noillegal escort serviceinvolved nor do I see someone put in a"tax payer"job in exchange for a snarling. Do you?

Here's why this is going to be made into such an issue, while the others are not: The Republican party, in aligning itself with the religious right (which I don't have a problem with) is assumed by everyone to uphold basic standards of morality. Isn't there something on those tablets brought down from the mountain about "adultery"? Kind of like when the "squeaky clean" kid at school gets busted for something he did wrong.
So, when a Republican fails to measure up to a behavior seen as central to the party, it's huge news.
On the other hand, the Democrats have no such alignment with religion or morality, so when the same is done by them, we all just shrug our shoulders - after all, their party never cared about that kind of thingin the first place. Kind of like the "fringe dropout" kid at school who gets busted for something we all pretty much assumed he was doing in the first place.
