Default Taxing health care benefits, unless you're a union member?

Didn't Obama criticize John McCain for proposing to tax health care benefits? Also, is it fair to give all union members a pass while taxing others only? Seems to me this is an offhand way of bolstering union membership via a tax loophole. Who needs to do away with secret ballots when you can use tax incentives to bulk up union membership at the expense of non-union labor?[:-]

Yes. He practically laughed at McCain's proposal, even though it included a tax credit which would substantially offset the tax.

Obama's got to pay-off the halfwits who put him in office. No other explanation for it than paying voters and buying their future votes.

They'll still want to do away with secret ballots. That way, those that aren't swayed by the tax incentives can be swayed by bullying...

I can't help but think this may be one of those issues that sways independents away from democrats in 2010, but I will never again hold my breath waiting for the public to see things remotely close to the way I do. The next republican candidate had better run on slashing entitlements and big gubment, promising to reverse Obama's heavy damage.

Sorry, been to busy to give a you know what. However, if government healthcare passes, what's to stop unions from transferring their retirees to the "free" government plan and then disolving their trust funds, that was set up to cover their healthcare and just recieved around 30 billion, into the bank accounts of those retirees?

Please, someone help me understand this? Please you libs and independents, let me hear your outrage. FYI, I want more than,uh, uh ,uh or silence!

Well when they do so, I well yell, but right now it has not happen. Your speculation is typical

I still like John's plan, he copied it from whole foods. They have medical accounts.

No what is typical here is your lack of any forsight in the matter. I noticed you didn't say anything on the topic but took a pass. Fact is we the concerned must bring these things to light because if we don't it becomes too late. That's when people like yourself will make excuses about the unions and how really good the people are in them and they deserve this money because they earned it.
