Probably depends on how you look at"one of the largest". The estimated Muslim population in the U.S. is 5 to 8 million. That's probably more than any other country in the western hemisphere, most European nations,most Asian nations, and some African nations, but less than most officially muslim countries.

That statement is not even remotely close to being true. Where does he or his lackeys get their information? Im sure he is banking on the relative ignorance of the people who actually care to listen to what he has to say....Cant blame him for that though, it did get him elected after all.
I threw out one of the more common estimates i have seen. And the worldwide population doesn't matter. What matters is how it breaks down per country among the roughly 200 nations in the world. If the muslim population in the U.S. is higher than in most of the nations then it could be argued that Obama's statement is correct. If not, then he was distorting things a bit. Like i said, it really depends on how you want to look at it since you can make pretty much anything that you want out of statistics.

Obamanfreude - 1. taking pleasure from the misfortunes of an Obama supporter as he or she is adversely affected by the policies of their Dear Leader.
The percentage of Americans who are Muslims is small but the U.S. has a very large population so the absolute number of Americans who are Muslims is probably larger than many Muslim countries with small populations such as Kuwait, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Oman.
2.3 million according to Pew. They are pretty good when it comes to their numbers.
