RE: Obama Picks Anti-gun Judge for the Supreme Court
See the "Talk is Cheap" thread already generating some interest. Absolutely, contact your US senator today. She is anti-gun. Canher confirmationbe successfully resisted? I don't know. If the issues -- not just gun issues, either -- are outed, maybe even if she is confirmed this can be brought against the encumbent Democratic senators in the next election cycle. It is all about accountability -- and accountability is not well served when constituents don't let their Senators know they are out there and give a chit. They may or may not still vote to confirm Sotomayor . . . but they'll also know there are some people who are taking notice and keeping score. I sure am.

Another odd fact is she is Catholic and will be the 6th Catholic on the existing 9 member SC. There are 2 Jews and 1 Protestant. The makeup of the general population is something like 52 percent Protestant and only about 20% Catholic and less than 5 % Jewish. The members of the SC aren"t a cross section of the population for sure. Kind of an odd fact when you consider the few Catholic presidents we have had.

Few understand freedom or it's "trump" over all else so they're blind to inheriant problems. The 18th amendmanet was brought about by a certain kind of person. It wasn't unusual for this type but the norm.
The only question this woman needs to answer is, What would you be willing to do to protect your child?
I even hate to mention the question since it will elavate or deepen the thoughts of people who have no business being in authority and they will use it.
RE: Obama Picks Anti-gun Judge for the Supreme Court
Several senior Republican senators including Hatch, Sessions, Kay Baily Hutchinson and Cronyn have cautioned senators and radio/TV pundits to turn down their anti-Sotomayor rhetoric. She would replace an anti-gun judge who was put on the bench byBush I. Sotomayor wasappointed a federal judge by Bush I and thevast majority of Republican senatorsvoted to to confirm her. When Clinton appointed Sotomayor to the appeals court, 25 Republican senators voted for her confirmation when they could have blocked hernomination.29 Republican senatorsvoted against her confirmation to the appeals court.
I do not like anti-gun Sotomayor at all. But the anti-Sotomayor rhetoric has gotten too shill. So long as good Republicans aid, abet and tolerate the attacks onfolks ethnicity and sex by politicians and media shills, the party will continue to goslide downthe drain. G. Gordon Liddy is a far out talk show host anda convicted felon who spent five years in federal prison for the Watergate break-in.This is whatLiddy had to say about Sotomayor:
[blockquote]LIDDY: I understand that they found out today that Miss Sotomayor is a member of La Raza, which means in illegal alien, "the race." And that should not surprise anyone because she"s already on record with a number of racist comments.
[/blockquote]Finished with the race-based attack, Liddy moved on to denigrate Sotomayor"s gender:
[blockquote]LIDDY: Let"s hope that the key conferences aren"t when she"s menstruating or something, or just before she"s going to menstruate. That would really be bad. Lord knows what we would get then.
[/blockquote]Finally, Liddy disputed the entire idea that there"s anything wrong with the paucity of women and total lack of Hispanics on the Court:
[blockquote]LIDDY: And everybody is cheering because Hispanics and females have been, quote, underrepresented, unquote. And as you pointed out, which I thought was quite insightful, the Supreme Court is not designed to be and should not be a representative body.
[/blockquote]Listen here:
Liddy and his radical colleagues, mostly on the radio, are so far failing to get the conservative leadership on board with their racist and sexist attacks. Last night, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) called the attacks "terrible" and "wrong." Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) was asked if he agreed with Newt Gingrich"s characterization of Sotomayor as a "Latina woman racist." "No, I don"t agree with that," Hatch replied.
RE: Obama Picks Anti-gun Judge for the Supreme Court
That Sotomayor is a racist is evident from her affiliations, that she is a feminist is equally evident. Her being Hispanic is of zero concern to me, her allegience to things hispanic is not. It's her liberal bias, socialist agenda, and record of judicial activism that concern me most, her attempts at legislating from the bench have been overturned repeatedly by the SCOTUS in the past, and usually with a stinging rebuke. This person is not the right choice for the SCOTUS, and never will be. [:'(]
