Obama"™s Teleprompter Obscures Supreme Court Nominee
[/align]
President Obama's choice for Supreme Court nominee has been widely speculated and discussed for weeks. So when he finallyannounced his choice withJudge Sonia Sotomayor standing by his side, the only problem was that a pesky teleprompterobscured her face. Television audiences were denied a good look at the woman who might be the next Supreme Court Justice.
President Obama spoke for about 12 minutes on Judge Sotomayor's virtuesdiscussing hercharacter, Bronx upbringing, andascension thru the judicial ranks. "She's been a big-city prosecutor and a corporate litigator. She spend six years as a trial judge on the U.S. District Court, and would replace Justice Souter as the only justice with experience as a trial judge -- a perspective that would enrich the judgments of the court."
It wasn't until President Obama stepped aside and the teleprompters slid down, that Judge Sotomayor came into full view. Her remarks were spoken from paper on the lectern, "I strive never to forget the real world consequences of my decisions on individuals, businesses and government."
President Obama has taken some heat for his continued use of the teleprompter which makes it difficult for members of the media to get a clear shot of his face during remarks.
Your in the big leagues now Obama. Time to lose the training wheels.
