Default A preview of what is to come under the Obama economy.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/20/schwarzeneggers-budget-reform-effort-fails/

California is broke and refuse to bite the bullet and fix the problem.

I love this quote;

Quote:
Californians are likely to be wary of the choices, however; they have repeatedly told pollsters they don't want to pay higher taxes but don't want to cut state programs either.

Looks like where we are headed as a nation. Thanks Obama supporters for not seeing the writing on the wall. We are a, give me nation. My grandparents have got to be sick with what we have turned this nation into.[:'(]

I will correct you...
California is broke
Californians do no want to pay higher taxes...already paying the highest in the nation for nothing
Californians DO WANT to cut State programs....The Governator and the Legislators are the only one that want those do nothing programs to continue.
Talk to anyone here that lives here...except for the stupid movie star libs...and the tree huggers
Go to your computer and listen to one of our radio talk shows between 3:00pm and 7:00pm pst daily, (KFI640)and you will get an idea of what the people want versus what this stupid Governer and his legislators want.

Personally I think California should go into BK...I do not want the Feds (the other 49 states) bailing this state out...because the wasteful spending will just start all over again...don't blame this on the people in general that live here...fell free to blame it on our stupid state goverment that does not know the meaning of a few words like cutbacks, balanced budget, and layoffs...people in the private sector are losing their jobs left and right, right now we have the highest unemployment in the nation...but not ONE State worker has been laid off or lost their job...
Sorry...just ranting about the stupid State Goverment in this state!

Also...I in no way would stick up for Obama...but California's mess started LONG before him, when Gray Davis was still Governer.

Fair enough. But Obama is doing to the nation, what California has had done to it by its government. Something we all need to fear.

You are right about that...

seriously google KFI640 3pm to 7pm pst...and you will get a real awakening about what the real people that live here feel.

909bowsniper: With all due respect, I don't agree with you. I don't believe that the majority of voters in California want services to be reduced but the legislators, unresponsive to this will of the voters and regardless of California's fiscal woes, insist on maintaining high public expenditures. I'm guessing the legislators have learned that their election depends upon giving their constituents what they want, and their constituents want publically funded services. It may be different services in different places -- agricultural subsidies and irrigation projects in northern California and higher wages for state employees in southern California -- but I can only believe they are doing this responsive to majority wishes.

You know, everyone I work with is a college graduate. Probably about half the people I work with are attorneys. I do not extrapolate from this admittedly skewed demographic to characterize the rest of the people outside of work. Maybe you are doing this in evaluating your fellow Californians? It isn't a moral fault, and I'm not trying to embarrass you, just trying to suggest how you might not accurately perceive the will of the citizens of California, as a mass.

Hey let's give Obamanomics a chance. There are still a few people in our neighborhood with jobs and still a few homes that haven't been foreclosed.

All we need is some massive tax increases. And a new National Health Care System will save tons of money by eliminating wastefully unnecessary procedures like coronary bypasses, hip replacements, appendectomies, etc. And look at the money to be saved by eliminating medical care for people over 60. They're all going to die soon anyway.

Just say "No" to National Veterinary Care

Lets give CA to China as a down payment on what we owe them, several more states could be added soon.

909 is correct, the majority of Californians don't like the way this Government works (look at the vote results from yesterday). But, with LA and SF pretty much controlling what happens in this state, well you see what happened.

I have to believe that Wisconsin is more like what the U.S. will become. Like the nation now, Democrats are completely in control of the state; owning the Governors seat, Assembly and the state Senate. We are $5.6 billion in debt and there is no end. GarDoyle and his criminal enterprise keep voting for more spending and even more taxes, but we seem to be running out of things to tax, so I guess that is why our politicians have been considering taxing taxes!

Oh, and per capita, we are more in debt than California!
