Yes, it will be salutory for Obama to have some kick-back from the electorate in 2010. It would be nice to have a bit more balance and resistance in the legislature -- for example a slim Democrat majority in the Senate or even a Republican majority in the Senate.
Why do you think he's pushing to get the healthcare bill steamrolled through before the end of the year. He is already seeing the writing on the wall about the state of discontent of the people and they are trying to get as much shoved down our throats as possible before the midterm elections.
