RE: Obama pulled the funding for the border fence
I have to say, I agree withObama on the notion of a fence. (yuck, that really tasted bad saying that) I feel a fence is only as good as the monitoring devices. Some places, it is more feasible, but others, it is just a ridicules waste of money. Put a fence out in the middle of nowhere, and all you got is a small obstacle for the illegal"™s to cut through, dig under, or climb over. And if the fence is being monitored properly, why not forget the small obstacle and just use the monitoring devices. Look at the tuneless we are finding that the Mexicans are using to drive trucks through. No fence will stop that, but sensors and monitoring devices would. I"™ve set in the back yard of a buddies in El Paso Texas and watched Mexican kids playing in the river, just walk right under the fence with no problems. Hell, the fence there has had more than 5 feet of earth washed out from under it. Not very effective.
