Someone please help me understand something about Gitmo

I have been pondering the closing of Gitmo and what it means. I have come to the conclusion that nothing will change, it is nothing but an expensive P.R. stunt by Obama. Let me explain. Obama has said Gitmo will be closed. His administration said it will not release the prisoner, nor return them to their home countries. His administration has also insured us that the Gitmo detainees will not be brought to America. Sooooo, Obama is still going to detain these thugs, but not at Gitmo; there for, we will still have a Gitmo, but somewhere else and under another name. The only difference is the cost of closing Gitmo and developing a new "œGitmo"� somewhere else.

Some one explain where I am going wrong?

According to Fox news, osama is running a similar prison in the other war. I didn't catch many details but maybe they could send them there. The one thing that we know for sure is that they have no plan what-so -ever as to what to do with the Gitmo guys, I think they will eventually turn some of them loose here in the USA.[:@]

Never heard any follow-up but heard something about Gitmo not being closed down in the time frame described in the executive order. Its all semantics. Prisoners at Gitmo are probably treated much better than your typical prisoner in a maximum security prison in the U.S., yet Gitmo has become a sort of evil symbol. Just liketorture being used in reference to about the same type of treatment that the pledges to a franternity undergo. Word games...

Stick them all in general population in any of New York's prison, such as Attica or Rikers Island. See how long they last. They'll be begging to go back to Cuba.

Drop them off in their home countries. From about 100,000 feet, forget the chutes, let Allah save them if he wants to. We will be rid of them, they will have their virgins and even the liberals will be happy.

Gitmo became an evil word due to the liberals in this country. For the sake of semantics, he will put them somewhere else and it will only cost more, for no good reason. It was all a ploy by a candidate in orderto get elected, and he has no exit strategy to fulfill that campaignpromise.

As I understand it, they said no more money for Gitmo. I may be wrong but that is how it sounds to me. However, They also have talked about postponing the date to close it so who knows. The osama crew is like going to the circus, lots of surprises and lots of show for nothing. They have made Bush the great truth Fairy.
