Gun laws got so messed up. A friend of mine cant buy a new deer rifle because all his ID info has aPO. box address and not a phyiscal address. Where he lives all residents have a po box . But because where he picks up his mail is not where he sleeps thay wont sell him a gun. So STUPID. So he asked them if I could buy it and give it to him. They said that would be considered a straw sales. He was being honest when they ask him if the ID address was where he laid his head and he said no. He has nothing to hide. Then they treated him like a criminal.What can he do other then lie ???, Which he wont.
can't he just go down to the dmv(dept of motor vehicles) and get his or her physical address put on his I.D. or drivers license? the same thing happened to me last year, i got my taxes back and wanted a hand gun, i had just moved 3 days before and hadn't change my license yet. luckily the letter that the taxes came in had my new address on it. i got the pistol a day later but atleast i got it.

One of my houses doesn't have a mailbox address. My renters have to usea PO box. Postal service is too lazy to drive a street that's a few hundred yards long with 5 houses on it. It still has a physical address though. So I don't see why your friend wouldn't have that too.

I live near 2 big campgrounds and was just talking to a retired gentlemen. He has no phyisical AD. He and his wife stay all year in their RV. Part time in Pa., Part time in Fl. All he has is po boxes. His drivers license has a po box on it from Pa. He just bought a Glock and the gun shop just took the info off his license,ran it and he got the gun. Go figure ?? I quess if they dont ask where you sleep just keep your mouth shut. See all these stupid gun laws dont work anyway.
I almost couldn't do it on my last purchase, my DL has PO Box, truck registration, etc. He wasn't going to do the deal until I grabbed my FAA medical and luckily it had a physical address. If it didn't I would have been SOL...[:@]

YEP, I just switched over from a Wyoming resident to a Montana resident. The lady in the Wyoming was kind enough to put both my physical & my p.o. box on my drivers license. She said it would allow me to use my drivers license to buy a gun, if I wanted.
Montana did not give me that option. Montana will only put a mailing address on a drivers license.[:@]
