Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Obama wants less punishment for crack dealers.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090429/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/crack_laws;_ylt=Ao2JSPwzmhJsIdQ2XC448Mm2GL8C;_ylu= X3oDMTJkaDl2OGU3BGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMDkwNDI5L2NyYWNrX2 xhd3MEY3BvcwM2BHBvcwM2BHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcmllcwRz bGsDb2JhbWFzZWVrc3Rv

It seems that all along blacks are getting in too much trouble for dealing crack. They can't help but deal crack because after all the rich white people can afford cocaine. What's next... larger welfare checks if you denounce a baby's right to life, Christianity, mortgage payments and gun ownership. Pretty soon, these might be the only crimes left to commit... inside a containment facility.

On the face of it, I don't see much to complain about. Two controlled substances, illegal to possess and/or use. Why such a disparity in punishments based on quantities of possession? I'm not an expert, but I don't know why 5 grams of crack cocaine should be punished more severely than 5 grams of cocaine? Maybe there is some difference between the drugs I'm unaware of -- like the difference between one pound of gun powder and one pound of nitroglycerine, or something related to the relative potency.

Perhaps it is related to the relative propensity of users to engage in a variety of other crimes to support their habit, or as a result of its use.

I suspect he's got some buddies, perhaps some of his old suppliers, who he thinks should be let out...
