I caught the replay of this, and it was pretty bad. So what was it everyone said about Bush being an idiot because of his speech gafs. Obama can just read good, not speak.

President Obama, usually lauded for his eloquence and oratory style, stumbled over his words today during his remarks at the National Science Foundation. But don"™t blame him "“ the teleprompter operator seemed to be asleep at the wheel.
The President, often criticized for his overuse of the teleprompter, had decided to adlib the portion of his speech where he introduced his designates to the Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. The problem with not sticking to the script? The teleprompter operator didn"™t seem to catch on. After noticing the same names he had just uttered on his teleprompter screen, President Obama stopped midsentence, paused awkwardly and told the crowd "œI just noticed I jumped the gun here."� Then after a second, Obama spoke directly to the unseen teleprompter operator,"� Go ahead move it up. I already introduced those guys."�
It still took a second or two before the operator caught on but the rest of the speech appeared error free.

Exactly. The guy operating the teleprompter is more then likely taking up space in the unemployment line today.

OK, I will agree with you about his frequent use of the teleprompter, the picture however tells me absolutely nothing. He could have been shading his eyes and looking at something completely away from the teleprompter. The left used similar tactics to discredit Bush. This just proves that the right is no better.

This is so embarassing to watch our President lose it for a teleprompter. I will take a stammering word mixing person over a non thought producing person anytime. He can't even adlib enought o tell a joke!

Yea, I guess you are right. The teleprompter was just in the way that day.
Maybe he could have seen what he wastrying to see better if he wasn't trying to see it through the teleprompter. He should have just stepped to the side, or squatted and looked under it.[8D]
