There goes that campaign promise! Just heard it on Fox, the agreement is about to be cemented. Add to that the Bush tax cut expirations and cap and trade, our share of the debt and its interest payments, and his change will soon cost us even more! Maybe the change we can believe in his his backing off all his campaign promises to the middle class! [:-]

Only naive idiots believe Obama. The way I figure it, about 40% of the population is unremittingly Republican; 40% is unremittingly Democrat; and 20% vacillate from one election to the next. Obama did a better job of selling himself to that 20% that vacillate -- along with a little help from his friends in the liberal media. How did people who ought to know better buy into this guy? Just idiotic. From the getgo, Obama was CLEARLY, irrevocably (1) taxnspend; (2) antigun; and (3) weak on defense/security. This is the absolutley classic national profile Democrat. So far Obama has not weighed in on increased taxes (oops, this thread is actually to that point . . . increased taxes by virtue of choosing to let the Bush tax cuts expire, raising taxes on lots of middle class Americans making less than $250,000 per year -- contrary to his campaign promise), but everyone knows it is coming, and in spades. So far Obama has not weighed in on antigun legislation . . . but how far away can that be? Some disturbing news on this front is already brewing related to treaties that impact reloaders (see other posts in this forum). Need I really comment on Obama with reference to weak on defense and security?

Obama said that HE wouldn't raise taxes on folks making under $250K. Technically, that probably remains true, since HE isn't raising taxes, he is simply letting a prior tax cut expire as scheduled...
I'd like to modify your "naive, naive, naive" conclusion. That may be true for many of that vacillating 20%. I suspect that a large number of them were also "stupid, stupid, stupid."
