Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Another Tax Increase

I just paid an increase of $1.50 for a 1.75 liter of my favorite adult beverage. I asked the clerk if there was a price increase and he stated it was apart of the stimulus package. I knew exactly what he meant and made reference to the tobacco tax increase. Although I prodded him further he refused to answer why there was an increase. After some research I still have no answer if this is a Texas or Federal Tax increase. Anyone have any suggestions? This got me to wondering why the bill will only show the local tax I pay but all other taxes are hidden in the price of the product. I think it is time that all purchases should reflect the Federal, State and City Taxes imposed on all purchases so people will wake up! I"™m so tired of people just laying down and accepting what others in control impose on us because they can afford it or it does not affect them. For some reason the generations after mine have become less tolerant of control over their future and accept anything that does not affect their personal world. Watch out because I see the internet use and purchase tax brewing just to mention a few.

There will be no stone left unturned ! Watch for the resurrection of the nickel-an-email charge proposed for the U.S. Postal Service for all email traffic...
