Yep, was wondering if anyone was going to post about it. Looks like the media is busy shaping folks minds for what's coming. . . . .THE WHOLE THING WAS DISGUSTING.

Course I'm in IL, so we have FOID cards, and background checks and waiting periods...
I was surprised that many states require no checks at all other than being of age I assume to buy a gun at a gun show or just in general?
As a seller, I'd want to know who I'm selling a firearm to.
The show focused mostly on what would you do if you had a gun in a violent situation, most people/ almost all scored horribly. Though most had very lil experience or training other than shooting at targets, which I would say if you're gonna carry concealed, one should practice holstering and removing etc...so when something goes down, you actually can draw your weapon and use it quickly.
Ya it definitely seemed a tad biased, some good info, which I've thought to myself before, basically if you have a gun for protection, be prepared to use it, don't just buy one and leave it in the nightstand.
Also did you see the young adults moving the garage of stuff who found guns? looking downt he barrels? etc..? This overwhelmingly tells me people need basic firearm safety training, if that was me as a kid or young adult, I would have first checked it to be unloaded... on safety..., would never point and pull the trigger.
People just have no clue how to even check a gun to see if it's loaded.
Well, the thing about it was that the test subjects were given an unfamiliar weapon, carried in an unfamiliar holster, and then was immediatley targeted by the assailent. None had military experiance and only a few were tested.
Plus, if anyone did test well . . .we'll never know. I would imagine that even a police officer would be lucky to test well if one were to enter the room with weapon drawn and pointed and immediatley single him out. Whats the point? . . .If someone gets the drop on you your probably going to get shot. The thing about is that if your not armed at all you stand no chance if your targeted and you can't escape.

Once again, a very select test group IMO. For the most part kids who are raised with and around firearms have an entirely different mindset and respect for the weapons.
My own kids knew about firearms and any curiosity they may have had about them diminished at a young age thru observation of what they would do and personal use.
My present wife has boys who had never held or fired a rifle or pistol . . . .I had to keep my guns put up and all ammunition locked away. . . . .Yes, they tampered with the guns the first chance they got while I was away. Letting them shoot, taking them hunting, and a firearm safety course helped a lot. . . .But I still take greater steps with these boys around as far as locking firearms away than I ever had to with my own kids.

Watched the whole show and it was the typical ultra-liberal anti-gun rant. Twice in my lifetime i have defendedmy family and myself from gun armed home invaders. Came out on top both times. i cannot help but wonder how some of the "experts" on the show will come out in their first encounter with a well armed and determined criminal.
I agree. One thing I've noticed vs. non-gun owners/kids raised around them, is I have far more respect for a gun, unloaded or not than these other kids had. They thought guns were "cool" and very toyish sense of them.
My girls were raised in a firearm atmosphere and learned the respect and responsibility of owning them. Over the growing years they spent many an hour in the shop while I was building for customers and developed an appreciation of what it means to have that freedom. Instead of video games and T.V. they were eager to jump in and participate in something real. As they approuched dating age they would bring the boys around and give them the nickel tour, and they would ask the usual questions and I left it to the girls to give them the usual answers. Spend time with your kids, its an investment.
