Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Growth of The Federal Budget

It will come as a surprise to no one that the federal budget is growing at an alarming rate. Here are some historical milestones in federal budget growth:

FY 1960-First budget to exceed 100 billion dollars.
FY 1979-First budget to exceed 500 billion dollars.
FY1987-First budget to exceed 1 trillion dollars.
FY 2002-First budget to exceed 2 trillion dollars.
FY 2008-First budget to exceed 3 trillion dollars.

It took 175 years for the federal budget to exceed 100 billion dollars. In 18 years the federal budget quintupled to 500 billion dollars. Then it really took off.

Within a couple of years the Obama budget will exceed four trillion dollars. [:@]

I would say: "I gotta puke." But pukingwill not drive this escalating budget sicknessaway. [:'(]
