I thought it was a good depiction of how the powers in a Republic have and can start to undermine the people, so my take on it is====Democracy with a little Law thrown in "Regulation and Oversite", is the best method.

What? Did you actually watch this? It shows at the end, that a democracy will inevitable lead to an oligarchy ,just like the ancient romans. The video shows that the word democracy doesnt even appear in the declaration of ind. or the constitution, and quotes S adams as saying "democracy never lasts long and soon murders itself". The point of the video is ,we need to uphold our republic (rule of law/indv. rights of the people) which was our forefathers intented form of govt. NOT A DEMOCRACY!!!
Best quote is "the essence of freedom is proper limitation of govt"
Now go back and watch this again and try to pay attention this time!

I think RM quit watching it when he became afraid he might learn something. I don't think he made it to the 1 minute mark.

I did watch all of it, but the video backfired on the guy promoting it. He say's in the very start that people have been persuaded to be a democracy, FALSE, I beleave people figured out what works on their own. Also, at the very end, He talks about Rome having a Republic, but some abused it politically and started fleecing the people. It kinda reminds me of what is going on today.

Exactly what Obama is doing!!! He wants all of his policies to be passed without the consent of those who oppose them and those he governs. I would have liked to see him listen to people on the stimulus and the government spending bill, but did he didn't Nor did he on his closing of GITMO, his Iraq/Afghanistan strategy, and many other critical issues. In short, he is "fleecing the people."
