Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

the rapidity with which this is turning into class warfare (as oppposed to a restitution of tax money) belies
the propaganda coming from the left. THe mere fact that you have the attorney general of New York State
threatening to publicise the names of private employess is blackmail, and if you take into account that these
self-same employees are under death threats for person and family, I would think there might be some criminality
there. I'd love to see "Evil Eyes" Cuomo rotting in an upstate jail...Monroe maybe ? That would be nice.

but the fact of the matter is that the government ensured the AIG bonuses were paid and is now looking for a
scapegoat now that the cat is out of the bag. I've seen administrations come and go....Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, the Two Bushes and the impeached and disgraced Klinton, but without
exception, I have never seen a more scurrilous, dishonorable and inherently criminal administration as the one
we currently bear...

GM did not pump the cash in Obama and the DNC's account like AIG did.

GM should not get a penny, they should have filed chapter 11 that way we are not bailing out the unions. But that might piss off some of Obama's Union buddies.[:'(]

Well, there's no secret that the dems in general, and O-blamma in particular, are owned by the corrupt and self-serving labor unions. I am not anti-union, I only believe they have somewhat outlived their usefulness on the one hand, and on the other hand, they have sold out their membership by entering into agreements with management which are not wholly for the benefit of the membership. So, it's a whole nest of skunks getting together and complaining about the stink..... Now it looks like GM is going to have to go Chapter 11 anyway, except now it's AFTER a fistful of billions in taxpayer largesse....thank you Mr.President.

This is why I believe the unions have lived well beyond their use.

And I agree with you. I have brothers in NY's Local 3 IBEW which continues to sign new members to get the dues.
There are not enough jobs for current members so what is the solution ? Long-time members must 'sit on the bench' for 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 weeks each year, without pay, so that other brother members get a shot at partial employment. That's just downright corrupt and unproductive. The good working conditions and many of the benefits we enjoy today are a direct result of union activity WAY BACK WHEN. They no longer serve the purpose which brought them into existence.
