Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Canada on Regulation

The prime minister of Canada 'Harper' explained to Chris Wallace the dier importance of the United States to regulate its banks and financial institutions. As we know, Canada does not have a problem with lack of regulation, so the economy is strong there. The US would do well to follow Harpers lead and advice on the matter. Harper is a Conservative, yet inforces Regs. Obama I hope will push for major regulations, eventhow the republicans fight it, heCAN get it done.

Strong Economy..Maybe in some aspects.
But Not in Construction and Manufacturing not any more..
Developers/contractors are starting to give away brand new off the lot chevy and ford vehicles if they purchase a brand new house, in this one develpment area of my town now.
Our housing market has peek(its way over inflated as it is),and houses aren't moving..
I bought my house 7 years ago for $106 000 sold it forjust under 400,000, after putting in some renos and built one paid for withcash..
And honestly I wouldn't have paid $106 000 for it,not for a 35 year old home.
1 year ago,a realestate guy called me asked if I was willing to sell so I told them I only consider it at current market value..
Personally no way would I do that...But I took advantage....
I feel sorry for anybody who bought their first house recently, cause in 6 months they will almost be forced to live in it forever..
Build a new one for the same price as some people who bought a 30 year old one....
It won't be muchlonger before you can actually grab a contractor and build your own house.
For cheep cheep...
If you can get a loan......And thats a big if....
I can say this much..
The only reason complexes are being currently being built and finished in Vancouver B.C. is because of the 2010 Olympics.
If it wasn't for the Olympics, there would be just hoes in the ground.
The city of Vancouver, and governments onall levels have pretty much taken all these private projects over at the tax payers expense.
For example,We have lost2 private multimillion dollar jobs in Calgary because the banks backed away and one was suppose to start April 1st.
One particular job was on the books, it was a go, ordered the metal for the first phase, banks backed away last month, now we are stuck with curtainwall metal and nowwhere to put it..
2010 - 11will be scary in Canada.
We may be able to get a few contracts in the U.S because of it, but it all depends on the economy down there, but good luck up in the next couple of years here..
Banks are going to stop loaning money out.

Yeah, like we need to take our lead from Canada.[:'(] Have you noticed, it was the regulated institutions that failed in the US?

Yeah remember when this one incident back in the 80's.
My dad woke me up one morning and asked me if I wanted to go to an auction with him.
I said sure and we drove a 3.5 hous and started bidding on evey and anything he could get his hands on..
We had a crap load of stuff 1 grand piano that they still have as well as silver were about 25 guns at the time.stuff worth alot of money..
I told me dad wow we got a load of stuff dad..
He told me we could of afforded 3x more and then some..
This guy owed my dad big time..
I rememdber going home all pleased my Dad didn't say a word he came into my room room and told me
to keep my mouth shut about what happened and what he had to do..
I said why, he told me cause today was the day he ever ever ever regretted having a familly to support.
Basically he said it was either us or them.
Now I'm gonna see first hand what it means..
Hopefully I don't have to resort to doing things like that but I will if I have to..
