Interesting...in NJ there is acknowledgment (they put up a roadside sign) for any company which has 'adopted'
a stretch of highway for 'beautification' by cleaning it up, planting/landscaping the shoulder and/or center median.
I do not know if there are tax benefits, or if it's 'free' advertising, but it's my experience that large companies
generally do no assist localities without some self-interest (read that as tax-related relief in return for their 'assistance'). If this is not the case, KFC should be lauded for it's selfless actions and more corporations should be encouraged to participate in public programs such as this.
