Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Should duck hunting be banned - Australia

Hello all,

I wonder if you would be kind enough to lend a hand to the Australians - the animal rights lobby are pushing to ban duck shooting, and some support in this poll would be great....:

Question: should duck hunting be banned?

w ww.independentweekly.com.au/polls/

Thank you, and apologies if this is an inappropriate request in any way.

There's not much help we can offer since we can't vote in your elections, but if y'all are smart you'll quit voting for liberals, then your problems will disappear. Best of luck mate.

Add 1 more NO vote. Noes have 52.2% so far. That's pretty close. Do you guys have an NRA, Safari Club or some other equivalent down there?

I voted NO but you're going to lose with less than an overwhelming majority. If you can't find a negative environmental issue associated with the cessation of duck hunting, you're toast. I will say this because:
a: any losses the government might incur as a result of lost revenues can be made up with a tax hike
b: you have no 'right' to hunt the state's wildlife...you do so at the state's discretion and direction

In your post, you provided no insight as to the state's reason for banning duck hunting.
Is it for humane reasons ?
Is it for environmental reasons ?
Is it for social reasons ?

Therein lies your argument against the ban.

ha ha ha, peoples problems have only increased when voting conservative. I know my fair share of liberal duck hunters. Perhaps if he voted conservative, he would not be able to afford to go hunting. As much as it pains me, I agree with bergalls post on this one.

Would one of those be Al Gore?

Oh, isn't he the guy that gave us the "Assault Weapons" ban...??

you are ...Deleted by CalHunter......liberals do not duck hunt. They appear on the news holding guns and SAYING they're duck hunters.
They lie too. The problems with the Aussies is that they have a liberal government...they keep voting them in....and complaining about the results. This is what happens when liberal skanks get into power; you lose your rights. And while hunting is a privilege, the leftists have succeeded (in no small measure) in tieing gun rights (if there are any codified gun rights on the island continent) to hunting. So, as far as I can tell, any controlling authority over wildlife claims that wildlife as property of the state, of the people, or some other collective ownership. As such, the government controls all aspects of hunting; the government can rescind those rights at any time. This is why normal Americans spit bile when the ilk of Kerry, Clinton or Obama try to foist gun control or ammo-control schemes on the people...they're trying to make gun ownership dependent on our hunting tradition. While the hunting tradition is strong, our firearms traditions are stronger and codified in our Constitution's bill of rights. Our Aussie allies are in trouble down there...
