Default The party of NO....

I'll tell you what, these Republicans are really something. If they don't like it, it's NO.......

In response of the AIG bonus catastrophe, the Republicans ( with Eric Cantor representing the party today ) have no answer to this problem, of how to fix it and why it's against the Constitution. First off, it's not violating the Constitution because it's not a form of punishment, it's returning tax dollars. Secondly, Republicans (who have no room to talk when it comes to fiscal responsibility) have no other alternative. Amazingly, not only did Republicans ( who are against big taxes ) vote for the highest tax increase in history today ( in the house ), but then they turn around and say it should be Giethners"™ job to fix this. Well, according to a poll right now on several news networks, people thinkthe Congress should be held responsible, and because 80% of AIG is owned by the tax payers, I would say that is a fair standard.

Anyways..... Republicans, explain this idiots' response, and what is the Republican plan to fix the problem?

Spoken like a true liberal who has never worked a day in his life and still lives with mommy and daddy. All earned money is the property of the government.

Read up on your history kaibab. Geithner was one of the original framers for the bailout of AIG back in September. Dodd was the #1 recipient of AIG campaign donations and Obama #2. Dodd threw Obama's crew under the bus today. Where there is smoke there is fire young man. Follow the money.

I will echo FM's respone here."Spoken like a true liberal." Why should it be the Republicans responsibility to fix this? Should the dems. not get their hands dirty too?

Geithner should fix this. Did he not sign off on the idea of allowing contracts with bonuses. I think the Republicans should fix this as soon as Geithner resigns tomorrow.

Maybe you should be the one who does a history check there bud.... the AIG bailout in September of 2008 was administrative done by the Executive Branch, which means Bush drafted and signed it. And if fact, he took the heat from his own party for it.

"Key Republicans on Capitol Hill blasted the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve on Wednesday for orchestrating an $85 billion bailout of insurance giant American International Group, and the White House for not informing them of the plan."

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/17/aig.bailout.congress/index.html

So let me ask you.... Do you think Bush did it so the money could go to the Dems.?

DA

What are you talking about? The Dems. are the only ones who have offered a solution.

So once again, what is the Republican plan? Obviously Cantor didn't know....
