Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Dodd Wrote AIG Bonuses Into Bailout Bill

Dodd truly is a lying sack of human crap.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090318/pl_politico/30833

Quote:
Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) looks like he may be facing a fresh political firestorm.

Quote:
Dodd just admitted on CNN that he inserted a loophole in the stimulus legislation that allowed million-dollar bonuses to insurance giant AIG to go forward "“ after previously denying any involvement in writing the controversial provision.

"śWe wrote the language in the bill, the deal with bonuses, golden parachutes, excessive executive compensation that was adopted unanimously by the United States Senate in the stimulus bill,"ť Dodd told CNN"™s Wolf Blitzer this afternoon.

"śBut for that language, there would have been no language to deal with this at all."ť

Dodd had previously said that he played no role in writing the controversial language, and was not a part of the conference committee that inserted the language in the bill. As late as today, Dodd"™s spokeswoman denied the senator"™s involvement.

How many Republicans voted for it?

By denying it until it couldn't be denied? Give me a break.....

No he wasn't. Read the article. He denied involvement. He only admitted it when the heat was turned up and he was caught in his lie. And Obama's deficit is 4 times that of Bush. Yes, Bush is to blame for not vetoing congress' spending. But Obama was about CHANGE, yet all he's doing is the same spending, borrowing and begging debt laden consumers to spend more, and not cutting ANY earmarks as promised, only Obama is Bush onsteroids! Blast Bush, but you have no right to use his spending to justify a LOT more spending!!! Like I've said before, the only thing worse than a MODERN DAY republican is a democrat, and Obama is true to form!

Now we are perpetrating the greatest ponzi scheme of all, where the treasury issues bonds and the fed prints money to buy them. Gold shot up over $50anounce right after the announcement (5% to 6%), and silver over $.80(over 7%). Everybody ready to buy eggs for $4 a dozen while unemployment is in the double digits?

One more thing, I see an article on Drudge stating that Obama's cap and trade plan may cost industry $2 trillion, which is 3 times the original estimate. All it does is increase lower cost alternatives so wind and solar are cost effective. All this at a time when our debt is too big to overcome, industry is hurting, and unemployment is increasing at breakneck speed. Who will pay? Ratepayers, that's who! You and me! And the earth stopped warming in 1998 or 2001, depending on which chart watcher you listen to, and COOLED the last two years and will cool this year again!!!

Clap it up for Obama voters! He's taking us to bankruptcy faster than anyone imagined!

Your title of the thread was wrong falcon. The clause was in the stimulus bill not the bailout bill. The very same bill your planning on pocketing money from. Post your W-2 if you in favor of these names becoming public.

You're right, Dodd's insertion is in the porkulus bill. However, the money is not in that bill: The money is from the TARP fund.

Dodd says that he did it at the request of someone in the Obama mis-administration.

Now, i will not post my W-2 online. i did not commit fraud by putting together a bunch of poison paper and peddling it all over the world as AAA rated. i did not come up withthosefraudulentcredit default swaps. The pukes at AIG and the investment banks did those things.

Those guys you call pukes got in the morning, went to work and honored their contract that they signed. They deserve what they earned. If they did a bad job, then they should have been fired. however, people who know way more then you or I decided they needed them there and legally made the contract that they honored. If Congress does pass this mob rule tax law that confiscates their money, then I hope they walk out tomorrow and it really puts a major hurting on AIG. I hope it would put the final nail in the coffin of AIG so that the tax payer could never see a return on any of their money. Let the whole thing collapse and go out of business after the US Government spent 160 billion in what amounted to a hostile take over. That is what I would love to see. That would make me happy.

It would make me happy only because we have lost our way completely now. It's bad enough that the US Government forced itself on a private corporation. Then for the US Government, who is suppose to protect and individual's property rights, to bow down to mob rule and confiscate legally obtained property from a handful of individuals who did nothing but honored their contract. That's wrong falcon. For any of you all to think it's right means you are absolutley saying the hell with our constitution. If they can do it to these few then they can do it to you. This isn't the country I've come to love. In fact, I wouldn't reconize it.

Dodd and Frank are up to their eyeballs in this whole mess and are maybe more responsible for it that any other two people on the planet. Frank won't budge though, he has admitted to nothing.[:@]
