Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I couldn't care less, after 50 years of Castro there's nothing left to want to see there.

Why, are you planning a trip there? Did you miss out on anything? It shouldn't happen. There is no reason to reward him. They offer us nothing. Why should we even care?

Fm, I don't understand how someone who so vehemently opposes restriction on freedom would oppose the freedom to travel wherever one wants in this world. Btw, I hear the inshore fishing there is terrific.

Been there done that. The fishing is terrific. However, why are we rewarding Castro? What has he done for us? He has been a thorn in our side. Remember when he sent us his convicts to make them our problem not theirs?

You mean it's alright for you to personally reward Castro (been there, done that) but as a national policy, you oppose it?

I just don't see it as having as much to do with Castro, as restricting by law (although obviously there are ways around that) my freedom to move about the planet as I see fit. We "reward" every other Country/dicator/thug. What's the difference??? It seems to me that this has been a policy by administrations that begrudge the fact that Castro has stayed in power despite our best political and, occasionally, military will...I think it's just sour grapes.

Afterall, Mexico sends us a helluva lot more criminals then there possibly could be in Cuba and yet I can go to tiajuana anytime I want.

No reward ever went to castro. That's a 100% guarantee.

Please point to where it's a guartantee that you have that freedom? No one has that freedom today.

No, it's not the same. We have a two way street going on. However, go ahead and lets reward communism in our hemishpere. I'm sure that's ok. It really was an outdate policy. We not only should reward it, we should ensure that it flourishs.

I like that. How you quality it...."in our hemisphere"...as ifthat is somehow much more egregious then our lop-sidedrelationships with COMMUNISM in theEast. Good one.

I never said that the "freedom" to travel anywhere I want is a right...I just think it is an unneccesary restriction (in this case) because of policy that has had obviously little effect in obtaining the desired result of the policy makers.

This ax has been ground down to the nub and I think it's time to throw it in the garbage pile.

You have yet to give one valid reason why. So I'll ask it again of both you and falcon, why? Why exactly do we need to do this? What do we get in return?

I think if Obama goes over and talks with them that relations will also be alot better. We should strive to be friends with our neighbors, and tough when needed.
