Default Democrats rejoice, less millionaires now than last year

Since most dems care more about tearing down the successful than building up the leeches, I imagine there are a lot of them celebratingthis news:
Millions are no longer millionaires
Research report shows the number of American households with $1 million net worth declined 27% last year.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The financial crisis has weighed heavily on American households, and millionaires are no exception, according to a report released Wednesday.
The number of American households with a net worth of $1 million or more, excluding the value of their primary residence, fell 27% to 6.7 million in 2008 from an all-time high of 9.2 million the year before, according to a report from market research firm Spectrem Group.
"America has a lot fewer millionaires than when this economic crisis began," said George Walper, president of Spectrem Group, in a written statement.
But don't weep only for the 2.5 million fewer millionaires. The report, which is based on surveys of 3,000 affluent households, also showed the number of both multi-millionaires and aspiring millionaires plummeted last year.
Affluent households, defined as those with a net worth of $500,000 or more, declined 28% to 11.3 million from 15.7 million.
Even the very rich have not been immune. Households worth $5 million or more, excluding primary residence, fell 28% to 840,000 last year from 1.16 million households in 2007.
"The culprit is not just the stock market, which we all know has dropped precipitously, but broad declines in the asset classes available to the nation's wealthiest investors," Walper said.
Respondents said the average value of investments in their principal residence, mutual funds, managed accounts and IRAs all fell in 2008 versus 2007, according to the report.
Millionaire households estimated that the financial crisis dented their net worth by between 30% and 40%. And the survey's measure of investor attitude fell to an all-time low.
With such a grim economic outlook, about 45% of respondents said they have made changes to their investment portfolios.
A majority of respondents said they are shifting capital into safer assets such as cash. But about 30% of those surveyed, mostly younger households, indicated that they are still buying stocks.
The report did not bode well for financial advisers. Only 36% of those surveyed said they have a satisfactory relationship with their primary financial adviser. That's down from 85% last year.

Seems to me DougMD, you can thank the policies of the Republicans for the last 8 years for this. Dems are not glad that there are less, I knowmany millionaires are Dems and hurting too. I don't think Dems dis-like millionaires.

It also seems to me DougMD that Obama has only been in office for 3 months now........ So who's to blame? RE-PUB-LI-CANS.... say it slowly, just like you'd have to for Bush.

Actually he's been in office some 51 days, but seeing how you support BHO it's an understandable goof.....goes along with the 57 states. It really is amazing how much he could screw up in such a short time. It's all president Bush's fault though........just like it was Presiden't Bush's fault that bho signed that spending bill today with 8,000+ pork projects attached.....

Ityped slowly, so you can read the screen just like BHO reads his teleprompter.

Yeeepppppeeee. Those sorry, now good rich guys. Screw big Buisness. They are nothing but blood suckers.

Wait, they are the guys providing most of you with jobs. But that dont bother rainman, he dont have a job anyway.

kaibab_hunter74, Ill give a pass, he is young and just getting involved with politics. I was very liberal when I was young. I can say i saw things in a similar light until I got older and had to start dealing with the real world. But at least he is making an effort to get involved at a young age, in time he will develope his true political view. What that will be, who knows, but at least he is starting his learning process.

Some of them are "sorry rich guys" and "blood suckers". Buying their votes of benefit in the halls of congress. Not all the rich think this way, some are willing to speak up, But most are the majority and are Republican.....

My question to you burnie is how do you benefit from Republican policy??
Unless you are pretty wealthy, you can't benefit..maybe 'morally' or something.? You say therich are supplying jobs? You better read the paper.

RM, I've already proven over and over again by posting the data from the US Treasury Department that showed from 1995 to 2005 both the middle class and upper class ranks swelled (that called increased) in size while at the same time the lower class shrunk in percentage. Furthermore, the only class that did see a down turn was the upper class of the rich. So much for the myth that Bush helped out the rich while socking it to the lower classes.

RM,
You are (or were) the, CEO of your company. You said so yourself.Did you not realize you were providing jobs? Maybe as CEO, you called the local labor union and said "Hey guys, I got one for you."

The forward-looking stock market has fallen as much since Obamawas elected as it didfrom its height under Bush. And though Obama has only been president for a short period of time, he's quadrupled our deficit. So much for pay as you go! Didn't Hoover teach anybody anything?

The point is thatmany of those who pay the overwhelming majority of taxes and provide the most jobs lost a lot of money, so maybeyou democrats will get your wish and tear them down to nothing. Then you'll wonder what happened to the jobs, and why YOU have to shoulder moreof the tax burden! Uncork the champagne!
