Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

It's a false story writen to make it seem that something really was done but never was. Stem cells research was never banned by the bush administration. That goes for adult stem cells as well as embryonic stem cells. The only ban put in place was federal funds (which amount to very little in the grand scheme of things in the research world) would go to distroying new embryos.

Fact is there has been a lot of research taking place for years with both adult stem cells and embryonic. However, only adult stem cells are showing real promise. The embryonic stem cells have been a failure to date. Of course folks like RM have new clue on the subject and its very telling when he says let the research begin.

Fieldmouseexactly right - I do NOT want my tax money spent on overseas abortions, I don't want $900,000,000 going to Palestine and I don't want stem cell reseach funded by it either [:@]

Now we get to fund something else with tax dollars, the private sector is finding no validity in. Stem cell research has never been banned.

Funny you should use the word "good". Many times in the past people have thought "this was the end" andone of the reasons was based on people calling evil, "good".
Anyone who thinks it's "good' doesn't know history. I'd bet that very soon food is going to bein very short supply and people will become slaves just to get some. No curse, just the consequences of planting a vile seed. There will be no aborting this one.

+1

The only downside to government funded stem-cell research will be the bellyaching and handwringing that will surely emanate from the fundamentalist Christian-right...

Come to think of it,a strong argument could be made that thatisn'ta downside

MagnumMan308 What doesn't the Federal Govt need to spend our tax payers money on?

Seriously? If stem cell research is what we need to spend the money on, then figuring the probability of volcanic activity in Oregon should also be funded, right ?
