Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Top Ten "Porky" Projects:

Top Ten "Porky" Projects:
10-$1.7 million for a honeybee lab
9- $800,000 to study catfish genetics
8- $8 billion train from Las Vegas to San Francisco
7- $5 million for salaries at the Sugar Beet Lab in Michigan
6- $500,000 for the fruit fly research
5- $200,000 for Tattoo removal in Los Angeles
4- $400,000 to train teachers on bullying
""and the bronze, silver and gold go to these stars:
3- $59 million to study the mating habits of the Pacific salmon
2- $2 million for astronomy awareness in Hawaii!
1- $1.8 million to study the effect of swine odor on the environment
If it weren"t so ridiculous, it would be funny".We are not laughing, Washington.

Money well spent. This will dig us out of the economic crisis.

Actually any of those projects have value, either in terms of economic development (catfish farming) or just general social value, although some like tattoo removal are really pushing it. I'm not opposed to have grant money available formany things,I just don't want it coming as earmarks. We need more clean bills and then let politicians promote their own pet projects for their districtsas seperate activities.

That is part of my issue. They are not stimulus projects. They were put thrown in as part of a stimulus bill. My question is; Are these projects the best choice for stimulating the economy?? How many jobs do they intel? That is my issue with them. Do some have merit? Most likely. But in this particular economic times ? No. Many of these projects could wait for more rosey times.

Its politics as usual instead of change. And I don't like it no matter who is doing it.

Yep, porky projects should be stopped, all of them. The OK Republican delegation to the US house claims to hate earmarks. Those born again Christians from OK loaded 66 million in earmarks into the omnibus spending bill then voted against passage of the bill.

If you have a Democrat pig and a Republican Pig and they both take a dump on the door step of your bank, won't they have the same stink to them? All but a few of those Swines should be given a one way ticket home. WE HAVE TO HAVE TERM LIMITS. Things are way out of hand and I am sick of it. How about you? (Out of hand is the under statement of the century.)

Osama is right, we need to come together. (and throw every one of them out.) Including osama of course, start at the top.

There have been some rather alarming bee die-offs in the past few years. The honey industry is getting worried.

Don't you want bigger catches?

$8 billion train from Las Vegas to San Francisco
Stupid...

Well, jobs, I guess.

Geneticists want to get paid too.

Quote:

Idiots...

Typical liberal crap...

Quote:
$59 million to study the mating habits of the Pacific salmon
Spawnings are at historic lows right now. It's downright scary.

Quote:
$2 millionfor astronomy awareness in Hawaii!
Astronomical research is very important to the state economy. They need to keep it going in order to survive economically.

Quote:
$1.8 million to study the effect of swine odor on the environment
I've lived near hog farms before. As in within a mile or so. Swine odor is a serious problem in some places.
