It probably wont amount to anything but at least someone had the balls to propose it. This should have been law years ago. I have to pass a drug test to work and feed em...so why shouldnt they have to have one to sit on their ass and collect it?

According to him, any good parent would choose to get off drugs for the sake of their kids. Dunno about that. That's not to say that i don't like the idea of legislation like this, but you do have to deal with the reality that there are gonna be a lot of Dumasses who wont quit drugs because of their kids, so you will still have the problem of the kids suffering when support is taken away.

Thats true Lanse' but the kids are probably already suffering. I do know Id love to see this law happen.

Yeah they may already be suffering. But the thought ofsomeimages on TV of several kids suffering from malnutrition because mommy couldnt pass the pee test will have some folks reluctant to really push this. The issue if how many folks would be willing to go on record as wanting to push it thru, considering the worst case scenarios.

Enact the law. If it is determined that people who have kids continue to take drugs, take their kids away. No kid is worse off in foster care or being adopted than with a drug addict parent that values their addiction more than their children! They're being neglected and possibly abused as it is!

A flood of children pouring into the Childrens Services system because one or both parents failed a drug test. Another worse case scenario that will have your typical politician running for the hills.[

If I have to pass a drug test as a requirement to my employment then those receivingthe tax dollars that are stolen from me every single weekthat I worked my ass off for while completely sobershould damn sure have to pass that same drug test.
