Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Folks may laugh, but this is the future for American workers....read that SERVICE INDUSTRY.

I was exploring the possibility of food deliveries from restaurants which do not deliver....
for a 20% reduction in price, I'd make up the difference (customer sees no change in cost)
and I make 20% of every order I deliver. Never followed up on it tho....

bergall, my boss was thinking agout the grocery delivery business at the beach awhile back. He's got a few places at Myrtle Beach and was thinking along the lines folks who shoot down their on vaction would like a service where the condo or house already had the food there so they didn't have to go to the store when they get there. For us guys in my wife's family, its always a reason to slip out and stop at a bar on the way to and back.

That's a nice service. I heard about a 'mobile oil change' service a few years back. Now that's recession=proof I'd think. If you got a car, you GOTTA change the oil. It's not a chassis lube and
it's not a tune up. They drain the oil, change the filter and refill. The outlay is for a trailerable
setup that has 2 oil reservoirs, one for new and one for used. I thought about that one for awhile
too...maybe could've made a 'go' of it by hitting up people parking at the NJ Transit train stations...leave
the key and your oil will be changed while you're at work...that sort of thing.

The problem with lots of these things is there's not enough return on the outlay. Nevertheless, the search continues....

The problem with oil changes is jiffy lube. They really are so cheap, it almost doesn't pay to do your own at home. FYI, they are so cheap, they too have a problem paying their own bills.

bergall, here is another start up that is real good for a 16 year old in a upper class suburb. Pet food delivery. With all the new brands finding their way to the market, a teenager could earn a good living by buying the food at wholesale prices and delivering the dog food at retail price w/a delivery fee. It's one designer business that pet owners find it inconvienant to keep supplied. They forget to buy it until it runs out and then depending on what they buy for their dog, the store isn't on the way but out of the way. However, one phone call or a preset delivery plan would solve this problem and the housewife would pay for the service.
