Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Keyes has a hard time distinguishing the location of his elbow relative to his butt. He's stretching his 1st Amendment rights, because that kind of talk is bordering on incitement. That's the kind of garbage that Adkisson nutcase in Tennessee read and listened to before he went into that church and started shooting people. His words:

Quote:
"This was a hate crime," Adkisson wrote in the four-page suicide letter obtained by The Knoxville News Sentinel. "This was a symbolic killing. Who I wanted to kill was every Democrat in the House and Senate ... (and) everyone in the mainstream media. But these people were inaccessible to me.

"I couldn't get to the generals and high-ranking officers of the Marxist movement so I went after the foot soldiers, the chicken (expletive) liberals that vote in these traitorous people."

How many more like Adkisson are out there the Keyes, Limbaughs, Coulters and other such idiots might be able to stir up to commit murder? To Republicans on the wingnut edge, everyone who disagrees with them are socialists. Marxists. COMMUNISTS. Need to be stopped. Eliminated. They say these things knowing full well there are crazies out there who could, and very likely would, take their words of violence as a commandment and go do it.

There is no way I would come within a hundred miles of calling him 'smart.'

Alan Lee Keyes (born August 7, 1950) is an American conservative political activist, author, and former diplomat, and perennial candidate for public office.[1][2] He ran for President of the United States in 1996, 2000, and 2008, and was a Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in 1988, 1992, and 2004. Keyes served in the U.S. Foreign Service, was appointed Ambassador to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations under President Ronald Reagan, and served as Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs from 1985 to 1987.

Perennial Candidate= haven't ever won anything nor have I really held a real job.

Why is it you liberals seem to always gravitate toward limitingfree speech? It is a theme repeated over and over on several different websites, liberals wanting to shutup those who disagree. Scary.

There ARE limits to free speech. It's illegal to walk into a movie theater and yell "Fire" trying to cause a panic. It's illegal to incite a riot. I consider much of what Keyes said to be in that same mold.

Why is it so many scream about 'rights' and ignore the responsibilities that go hand in hand with those rights?

edit: As for calling me a liberal, if your definition of liberal is anything to the left of Limbaugh, then I'll plead guilty. If you're trying to equate me with Nancy Pelosi, you're completely out of your mind.

Doug,
I did vote for him in the 1996, and 2000 primaries. The primaries are my favorite because I can vote for who I really want to. In 2000, it was a hard choice between him and Steve Forbes, but I voted for Keyes because I knew Bush had itwrapped up,and I just felt good about voting for Keyes again. When the general election comes in November, I have to vote against the democrats.

It would be nice to haveSteve Forbes right now. He is the exact opposite of Obama when it comes to economic policy.

Keyes is not happy with justwinning a debate. He likes to win it, and then dump a pile of coals over your head afterward.

Good for him. I liked his line about the US being a bankrupt nation bailing out a bankrupt banking system, and how we went from counting dimes to suddenly creating$2 trillion out of thin air. He seems to care more about our kids and the long-termfuture of this countrythan most in the government.
