Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default "This bill marks the Beginning of the End"

That's exactly what the president said today. Unfortunately, that can mean two different things. Could this really be "The Beginning Of The End?"

The auto companies are going to close plants and lay off more people. Their suppliers will also have to shut down and lay off employees. State governments are announcing layoffs.

This in addition to all the people who are unemployed now. How are all these unemployed people going to pay their bills, buy groceries, pay utilities, mortgage payments?

I see what you are saying. If you go to Walmart and any fast food resturant they are busy.

They will have to adapt as man have done for centuries. The notion that the government owes everyone a job or retooling is the kind of overreach that has us with a debt over $10 trillion. Add to that the $57 trillion in unfunded liabilities and we are in deep doo-doo. Why is it that nobody has concern for our kids getting stuck with the tab when they vote all this money to people going through the normal, though serious pain andinconveniences of generations past?

No just a very long down period. There is no one to lend us money right now so the US governemnt will print the entire amount. This will mean inflation on a scale bigger than the 1980s. Bush was facing this same thing back in 2001 but did the right thing and cut taxes. The big thing no one wants to discuss are the fact that those tax cuts expire in 2011 (begining) and will raise evryone's taxes as well as corporations. Put that in the same bucket with the fact the US Government will be competing for the same money companies need to expand and do business, you tell me who will win?

FYI, incentives for people to buy cars went to Harry Reid's super train from LA to Las Vegas. BTW won't be built until 2017. He really cares. State governments are way over employed. They need a 25% cut if not more. This bail out puts many state on the hook for all the other state's decisions. That's not right.

It's called get a job, start a business and be self sufficient. I know it sounds cold but remember, the number of people who find a job increases dramatically the last week benifits run out.

I guess the same reason nobody has concern for our kids getting stuck with the tab for Republicans wanting to kick Iraq's ass, but not wanting their taxes raised to pay for it.

Did I say that? Oh, dear. How impolitic of me. [8D]

hmm let's see arthur. less than 600 billion to prevent someone from blowing me up on the street with many others while I'm shopping with my kid or 684 billion to enable the kid from the unwed mother to kill me at gun point for my wallet. Hmm very tough decision but I would rather take my chances with the one on one encounter.

thank you for your personal slant on the issue. You're praising the war while you are passing the cost of the war on to the kid you take shopping. Given your anti-tax reputation, that makes very compelling testimony in support of my point.

War is in the constitution and it was arthorized several times.Like I asked several times before, the wars cost less than 1 trillion. Where did the rest of the money Congress spent go to?
